Worst kept secret in recent Caterham history!

As predicted by most, Caterham launched the CSR series of cars with a new Cosworth developed 2.3-litre Ford Duratec engine.

Currently supplied in 200bhp and 260bhp levels of tune, both based around the 2.3-litre engine. Perhaps the most important aspect of the engine for Caterham is that it is EU4 approved, which will provide a major boost to Caterham's export market

The engine will form the heart of Caterhams new European Endurance Championship in 2005.

Cosworth were represented at the launch by - sorry - need to find out!

Neat alloy intake plenum on the CSR 200 car.

Interesting airbox filter and intake! Note also the small size of the pedal box cover on this left hand drive car.

Very neat - though incomplete on the showcar - installation.

The CSR 260 showed a different engine bay architecture, with a heater, a repositioned coolant reservoir and foam induction filter. Also showed a different pedalbox cover?

Note the relocation of the fluid reservoir bottles for the brakes and clutch, now in front of the pedal box rather than above.

Engine as seen in the new chassis...
