Relais de la Course - the fantastic location for our New Years Eve meal. We of course visited before for a photo opportunity!

With our last Ferry tickets to use up for 2003 we decided to again spend New Year in France, something we have done a number of times in the last few years. In the past we have spent it in St Malo, Normandy, but this year we decided not to travel so far and stay at our favourite B&B just outside Montreuil, in Pas de Calais.

This year we were joined by Mike and Tam Calvert - fellow Seveners and Bordeaux Blatters. We had a fantastic break, with the usual mix of great roads, lovely food and brilliant company. We also managed to get some great pictures, courtesy of some great weather, including great atmospheric morning mist, snow on New Years Day, and Summer Sun on New Years Eve! Thanks to Tessa, Mike and Tam for their patience whilst I snapped away 'for the website'!

These pictures can be catorgarised by the weather. First day we had great morning mist, followed by gorgeous sun, then snow for the New Year. This led to some great pictures...enjoy!

Our B&B is situated almost on the banks of the River Canche - lovely location for walks (or slow drives in this case!)

There are also numerous large ponds in the valley along the River Canche. Popular with fishermen, ducks and location spotting blatters! These pictures were taken at about 11am before the sun had burnt the morning mist off.

You could have shot a whole calender for 2004 here!

Either a bunch of very dodgy poacher type people, or a bunch of well insulated Seveners waiting for Angus to take his pictures - you decide.

Note the large bunch of mistletoe just above Mr and Mrs Calvert.

A very quiet railway line also runs behind the B&B. This shot was taken on the move whilst crossing the track in the car...

...this lucky shot was also taken whilst we were driving off to Le Touquet. I held the camera back to front over my head and clicked!
