A little table had been set up for a few speeches....
...we had a special ceramic plate that we managed to get everyone (I hope!) to sign - it has made a great souvenir. We thought that was that....
....but no!
Unknown to us, Mark had managed a collection from all our 7'ning friends over the previous 6 months.
We had suggested a '7' themed mini-guest gift list for the evening Hog Roast. We would have been delighted to get a few Caterham of L7Club mugs, some t-shirts, maybe even a set of tyres!!
...but no...
...as everyone looked on, Mark presented us with 3 'vouchers'...
...these were to help us rebuild our car...
...we were stunned! It was a total surprise - I have no idea how you all managed to keep it so quiet!
I was (almost!) speechless but managed to say a few words anyway!
And propose a toast to Mark and all who had contributed. It was an amazing gesture and rounded off a perfect day before we tucked into the evening food.
Mark handing over the vouchers - as I said, it was a total shock and an amazing surprise.
| The vouchers covered a reskin, a respray and parts from Caterham. |
| Hugh and the Hugenorts strike up and the evening begins as the sun set... |
That'll be the Hog then!!
My Dad pushes my nephew Toby around in his 'First Seven'.
Plenty of photographic opportunities.
