GUESTBOOK

Tessa and I went on to stay with Roger and Sandy a little further along the Dordogne.

Roger and Sandy had joined us for some of the Bordeaux Blat this year and last.

They have a beautiful home with Gites and Chambres d'Hotes just east of Bergerac. We can highly recommend a holiday here. Great location and lovely pool.

Roger has a Fireblade Caterham. We enjoyed a brilliant blat in the evening too and from a delightful little restaraunt which served good, basic French grub.

Saumur, in the Loire Valley, was where we were to leave our car while we flew back to watch the British GP

Its a beautiful riverside town, and a good base for the region.

Blatchats' 'Battered Old Supersport' lives just outside the town, and had very kindly offered to look after our car.

Main Square in Saumur - whilst enjoying an evening meal with Steve, a huge squall came through with no warning. Shorts, t-shirts and aero screens! Picture does not justice to theamount of wind and water. We had a mile or 2 to drive to get back to Steve's. Tessa had a cardboard box on her head, I tried to drive in the dark with sun glasses!

Standing/flowing water on the road is perfectly dumped right into a caterhams cockpit, along with bits of tree, gravel etc. Could not see the kerb - at least the water was warm!

A huge thanks to Steve for offering to look after our car while we were away for the weekend, and indeed for putting us up in his house for a few nights. We had some great food, great evenings of chat, and look forward to returning sometime to enjoy some blats around the area with Steve and his not really too battered supersport!

The fairytale Chateaux at Saumur.

And so we flew back to Stanstead for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. This was a real treat for us as we are both big F1 fans. We had been very lucky to have been given a pair of tickets for the weekend. Staying in the marshals campsite, we were close to the action for a fantastic GP. We watched the race from the inside of the track between Stowe and Vale, and saw much of the overtaking right in front of us. Our first GP and it was one of the best! Cannot thank you enough Mark!

Thanks to Tessa's dad for letting us borrow his car while we were in the UK. You can fit a lot more stuff in a Volvo T5!

Tessa just before Bridge (after the race obviously!) Schumacher had all four wheels on the grass on the left in qualifying, and Kimi and Rubens went under the Bridge side by side at 150mph!

The drivers parade - honest!

Ok - I am sorry for this one. Throughout the weekend we were treated to TV shots of this Silverstone hare running all over the track. Its luck ran out during the Historic race after the GP.
