Smokin' Fun!! What Abbeville is all about. Boom has the bullet-cam on.

Small scale of the circuit makes spectating good, with the whole track easily visible.

Essential accessories if engaging in smoking fun - a spare set of hooligan tyres - 4th wheel is on the back of the car - in this case some very-past-it AO32's

It is possible to do Abbeville as a day trip - but it will mean an early start. Here, Mark and I set off at about 5am...

...onto the Tunnel at about 7am. New price structures mean that it is possible to travel for 24hrs for about £40 - although not with a trailer - making Abbeville a nice weekend break.

Exiting in Calais....

A nice big grassy bank over-looking the circuit provides a great viewing spot, where all the on-track action can be seen.

The main 'straight' - it is straight in real life anyway!

Setting off on another lap...

Nothing better on a summers day...

..or in this case, judging by the wet track, a winters day! This particular curve provides the best opportunity for sideways fun.

The smoke is actually from the exhaust, rather than the tyres. The engine was the intermediate 1.8, hurriedly put together whilst our 1.6 was being rebuilt, now it has been built 'properly' there is no longer any oil smoke.

Mark going unusually 'straight' round a corner!

Whilst we don't...

View from the grassy bank looking towards the chicane. Note the weather station in the background, with wooden chalet.

Note the tyre rack on the back of the car - also great for mounting our boom from with the bullet cam attached, and getting some unusual shots and angles as we slide around. Video clips from Abbeville can be seen elsewhere....

On one or 2 trips we have shared Marks car - 270bhp here is almost too much....but of course not really :)

I think the end of this straight is the only place that I know of where Mark has ended up in the gravel after some optimistic braking, whilst trying his new 'big' engine for the first time.

Me enjoying the oversteer-on-tap from this powerful VX powered 7.

...oops!

Bloody hard work driving hard around Abbeville in his car - Mark and I were both managing about 8 minutes at a time before coming in for a break!

I really didn't spin all the time - just that the 2 occasions I did, were caught on camera - honest!

Back in our car on another - wetter - day.

...oh bugger! This picture is taken on a different occasion to the one just above it - notice the wedding bouquets still attached to the roll bar - so this would have been only a few weeks after we got married.

All too much for Tessa!

Plenty of tyre wear if you want it! These 32's were pretty dead before we arrived at Abbeville - I think the nearest one in this shot has pretty much had it now. You don't HAVE to slip and slide around the track, but it is a safe place to do so...

Ready to head off home. Note the duck-tape on the rear light - the almost bald wheel had slipped off the rack before I tied it down, bouncing off the rear wing, and on top of the rear light, breaking it. Luckily it didn't crack the wing. This is pre-rebuild.

Evidence of much fun!!
